The Raftman statue
![]() | The raftman statue was brought up in 1954 as a reminder of county governor H.A Widmark, the founder of Jokkmokks Allmänning (Jokkmokk commonage). It was inaugurated by county governor Thunborg. Creator of the statue was Runo Johansson–Lette, who also made the logo for Jokkmokk Wintermarket. Model was Felix Åkerlund (the grandfather of Per Åkerlund), therefore a popular name for the statue is “Felix”. At the landowners conference in Jokkmokk the 27th of November 1886 the county governor Widmark had the idea to create Jokkmokks Allmänning. The idea met a lot of resistance from the large forest companies; however, the idea was pushed through. The founding of Jokkmokks Allmänning was the 5th of April 1889 through a royal letter. |
